57 (Lesser-Known) Facts about Me

1. I have two sisters and three brothers
2. I was born with asynchronous pupils (they don't match up in sizes)
3. I grind my teeth while I sleep
4. I have always been entranced by black cats, and as of October, I now have my own.
5. My cat's name is April Ludgate Dwyer Karate Miller Bryan
6. I tell people I'm Irish so they don't tell ME that I am... but I have VERY little Irish in me. I'm almost completely of German heritage.
7. I used to want to be a makeup artist, but I wasn't patient enough to practice like I needed.
8. I went to France in July of 2018 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the death of a family member of mine in World War 9. I sang "America the Beautiful" at the gravesite ceremony, right after the 11th hour chime of the clock tower. It was probably the most honorable thing I've ever done. It was wild.

11. I used to want to be a comedy writer for sitcoms and other TV shows like Saturday Night Live and award shows. I even wrote a pilot. The show was going to be deeply ironic. It was going to be called, "Laugh Track,".
12. I am obsessed with the shoe company Rothy's, but they are so expensive, I only have on pair, and I'm SLOWLY working on acquiring my second and third.
13. I wish I lived in the mid 1980s-1990s, because cell phones, social media, and computers give me anxiety.
14. I've dislocated both my shoulders in various activities. Once you do it once, you'll do it constantly. One's tendon becomes a stretched-out rubber band. The first time I dislocated the right was during a musical I was in. The audience heard my scream (so I'm told). The left was that summer, when I crashed going 30 mph whilst tubing (In my defense, I hung on for about 25 minutes before they got me off)
15. I'm already struggling to come up with more.
16. Harry Potter was--and is--my favorite fandom/series as a kid.
17. I'm in love with Emma Watson. I think we would be best friends.
18. I listen to way too many true crime podcasts.
19. My great great grandfather died of pneumonia 13 days after his son was born because he had jumped into the Hudson River to save a woman who fell in.
20. I was in Paris last year when France won the World Cup. 102 people were arrested that night for rowdy celebrating. Many cars were bashed in. It was a little but of a crisis.
21. Parks and Recreation and Futurama are tied for my all-time favorite shows.
22. I taught myself how to crochet, and I'm really good--but I'm still VERY much a novice.
23. I have a scar on my upper lip from when a dog attacked me at 18 months old, and it still stings when I drink lemonade.
24. I was born deaf in my left year, and thusly, I have a prosthetic eardrum in my left. Subsequently, it's failing from age, so I need to get a hearing aid...
25. When I was 16, I was addicted to online Texas Hold'Em
26. I thought my dad was the President of the United States until I was like 7 years old...
27. I don't play guitar, but that doesn't mean I don't have 5 guitars in my house at the moment.
28. I didn't have a computer in my house until I was 12 years old.
29. My Grandmother worked at the oldest Winstead's--the one in downtown Kansas City. It was still there a few years ago, but it may be gone now. She worked there in 1949.
30. I really want to go to Philadelphia.
31. I'm obsessed with history and museums. I used to think I would grow up and go live in a museum.
32. I can't draw very well at all, but that doesn't mean my dreams don't depict some of the most sophisticated and awe-inspiring architecture I've ever seen. I've tried to draw my dreams so many times. It's futile.
33. I have been drinking coffee since I was 4 years old.
34. I have hopes of publishing some children's books and young adult novels in my lifetime. I have some killer ideas.
35. My dad comes from a family of 10 brothers and sisters. My stepdad comes from a family of 7 brothers and sisters. My significant other's mom comes from a family of 14 brothers and sisters. There's a lot happening there.
36. When I was 13, I wanted to be a whittler. I practiced on old candles. I was not good at it.
37. The names of the pets I've had thus far (in order) are: Lulu-sheepdog; Sundae-bunny; buttercup-cat; mittens-cat; Gigi-poodle; Jasmine-cat; Peaches-cat; Cinnamon-Yorkie; Wilbur-cat; Toby-poodle; Homer-cat; Stella-poodle; Rascal-cat; Reba-cat; Boo-cat; April-cat.
38. I didn't realize it seemed like I had so may cats over the years, but we lived on a farm for some time, and barn cats come and go. April is the only pet I've had as an adult.
39. The lighting section is the only section I will go to at Home Depot. Otherwise, I get a headache.
40. I have one tattoo, and I will soon be getting another to commemorate my sister's 18th birthday (we are getting family tattoos)

41. I have very strait hair naturally, but I've always desperately wished I had naturally curly hair.

44. I'm really afraid of monkeys and apes, but I love to watch documentaries about the origin of man. Ironically, monkeys and apes are heavily featured in all of these films.
45. I've driven to Dallas, Texas by myself 3 times.
46. I'm obsessed with wind-turbines that are used for energy. You know the ones.
47. My brother is a farmer, my dad was a farmer, his dad was a farmer, and his dad was a farmer. BUT none of that would have happened if my great-grandfather hadn't been adopted by his uncle. Remember how my great-great grandfather jumped in the Hudson? Well, his wife died of Tuberculosis in 1895, so my great-grandfather was adopted away from our family's home of New York, and moved to Kansas. Our name went from the Swedish name, Lofgrehn, to Miller.
48. I have a few family historians that are in there late 80s that I meet with frequently. I'd love to write a book about their lives.
49. When I was in third grade, I told my teacher I would someday own a fox.
50. I still don't own a fox.
51. I cannot believe I'm not done yet.
52. My stepmom went to Shawnee Mission East, which is where I am completing my Student Teaching prior to getting my degree and certification.
53. My aunt went to prom with Paul Rudd (not as his date--in a group)
54. My stepdad went to the first ever Super Bowl between the Packers and the Chiefs. His ticket cost a little over $12. He was 13 years old.

55. I've broken all of my toes EXCEPT the big toes.
56. I've always wanted to be an archeologist/paleantologst, but I get horrible sunburns...
57. I'm allergic to eggs, but I eat them anyway because life is short.
